Package: amanda-server Version: 1:3.1.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss
I'm not sure if this belongs as grave or serious, but either way it is showstopper segfault and thus RC. amreport is updated throughout the backup process so when amreport segfaults it interrupts the backup (or flush). This means no backup is possible an thus introduces the possibility of data loss. The only message I get is this message in dmesg/syslog [382769.476112] amreport[25359]: segfault at 0 ip b7658425 sp bfe35ec8 error 4 in libc-2.11.2.so[b75e5000+140000] It is rather alaraming because it means I can't backup my system (I don't have any big enough storage other than tape). -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686-bigmem (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages amanda-server depends on: ii amanda-common 1:3.1.0-1 Advanced Maryland Automatic Networ ii bsd-mailx [mailx] 8.1.2-0.20100314cvs-1 simple mail user agent ii libc6 2.11.2-6+squeeze1 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libncurses5 5.7+20100313-4 shared libraries for terminal hand ii libreadline6 6.1-3 GNU readline and history libraries amanda-server recommends no packages.
