I hadn't yet.  I do have additional information point, however:  ps
aux|grep gitlog shows that user gitlog is running svlog for git-daemon
even after a manual sv stop git-daemon.

I will attempt to provide more details when I have a chance to
reinstall and test the removal again (I admit this isn't a high
priority bug for me, as I was removing the package which I didn't
intentionally install, because I don't need to run a git daemon on my
machine).

Okay...I was sure I saw something when I read it, but I'll grant you
it's been a while.  Also, this bug is also present in squeeze, so
once it's solved you may want to talk the release managers about fixing
it in stable.
