This is a known problem with some kernels, it is solved on the new version
on testing, you may either build that one or we can try to fix this one, it
is just the tests that don't run well on some kernels (modern ones have
stopped allowing certain system calls from normal users, it'll build well
as root).

If you find using the new version good enough for you I'll close the bug, if
not, I can try to fix this, but I don't think uploading a new version to
stable is worth the trouble. The version on testing compiles and works ok on
squeeze, I have tested it on i386 and amd64.
