Same problem here: Debian Wheezy, with a fresh install (netinstall with a minimal Gnome selection) on two different machines (a laptop and a virtual machine on a different laptop) keyboard works in the shell, but I can't go ahead the login screen, as both touchpad and keyboard doesn't response. If I plug an external usb mouse (and keyboard I suppose) this start working for the current session. None of the suggested fixes found around have worked for me. I don't know if this can help, but I can't find any file /etc/X11/xorg.conf This bug is preventing me from using Debian, as I can't have always external mouse or keyboard on a laptop. Any suggestion? Any workaround?
