I just was upgrading mutt-ng and saw your "SEGFAULT" bug report with no usable description.
In my case after upgrade I couldm't start up mutt-ng
as well - was segfaultig. Removal of header cache files from previous
version helped A LOT -- now it works nicely, so you might want to check
if you didn't have orphaned caches of the headers
