I tried to reproduce the failure you described. I could reproduce it *once*: - pbuilder login ==> creates a directory /var/cache/pbuilder/build/foo - cp wims*_4.02-1_amd64.deb /var/cache/pbuilder/build/foo/tmp ==> copies of relevant packages - cd /var/cache/pbuilder/build/foo/; dpkg -i tmp/*deb ==> fails to install due to missing dependencies. By the way, i noticed a strange quirk: the package adduser was missing. - apt-get -f install ==> downloads dependencies, and installs them, then tries to install wims : then I could reproduce the failure you noticed! However my pbuilder archive (for ARCH=amd64, DIST=sid) was not refreshed. So I made another try: - pbuilder update - pbuilder login - cd /var/cache/pbuilder/build/foo; apt-get install wims And then the package wims was properly installed. Running this sequence again gave the same result, of course. ---- So my opinion is that at some time the environment provided by Sid missed some feature, which is missing no longer, now. In my opinion, this bug report should closed, as the bug is not reproducible. What is your idea about it? Best regards, Georges.
