Source: libalogg1 Version: 1.3.7-1.1 Severity: serious
Hi, I'm involved in the transition towards Allegro 4.4 [1] and libalogg1 currently FTBFS against Allegro 4.4, because we removed allegro-makedoc from liballegro-dev. I'm wondering if we still need this package. It has no reverse dependencies in Debian and the upstream website doesn't exist anymore. Googling for it, I didn't find a new upstream website or hints that libalogg is still used. Allegro 4.4 is now a legacy library, that we keep for the existing games, Allegro 5 has its own ogg support. Also there is a different ogg library, liblogg, bundled with Allegro 4.4 an maintained by the Allegro developers. We didn't package it (yet), because we're not aware of it being needed. If you are aware of any packages or important programs using libalogg, or if you don't agree with the removal for other reasons, please let me know and close this bug report. Otherwise, do you agree with me reassigning the bug to ftp.debian.org to pursue the removal?
