Well, it's not terribly satisfactory for people who are upgrading from Squeeze. How will they discover that they have to remove this package to get working Flash? I spent like one hour to identify the culprit... and I'm not the average user. I think it's better to move the .so away and add the update-alternatives registration, rather than spend the same time documenting the issue in the release notes.
