Hi. The getmail developer has released[0] a new upstream version (4.35.0).
It's apparently expected to fix the corruption issue, I haven't been able to check this, yet. Could you please package this and get an exception for wheezy? However, I still think we need to add a warning about the corruption in the: - NEWS file - release notes but we don't need to add it to the package description/debconf,... if the fix proves working.
