Since it looks that you are using startx with a custom .xinitrc, you
need to launch the DBus session by adding the following line to your
~/.xinitrc:

 eval `dbus-launch --exit-with-session --sh-syntax`

Then flush will start without complaining.

Also note that flush typically starts with only an icon in the
notification area, but no window. So you will have to install the
"docker" package (or something with equivalent functionality) then
launch it, in order to have something usable.
