As Gregor already pointed out, it's not exactly surprising that these two
don't work together. I use sid with icedove 10.0.12 and gcontactsync 0.3.5 and
they indeed work together. Just try installing xul-ext-gcontactsync from
testing and you should be fine.

Before reporting severity grave you should spend a little time thinking about
it. This is by no means a grave bug, actually I think it's not even a bug at
all. There is no guarantee that all components you want to use are in
backports. You might argue they should making this a wishlist bug, but I doubt
anyone would be willing to do the work. After all stable is quite old already.

Therefore I simply close the bug report.
