Hi,
HAL has been deprecated and declared dead upstream so we want to
get rid of it eventually in Debian [1].
Please consider porting synce-hal to newer interfaces. Without knowing
too much about synce-hal architecture, the way to go is probably a udev
prober and/or a small D-Bus activated system service.
Regards,
Michael

Hi,
You have filed a bug against synce-hal in Debian. Unfortunately,
synce-hal has now been removed from Debian unstable, so I am closing
this bug without any fix for your problem.
If your bug affects the stable (or oldstable) version of synce-hal, it
will remain open until fixed there or the release is no longer supported.
~Niels
