Yep, that's basically what I've been trying but with later versions of APD. The version that's in the package now is quite out of date so I've been trying to get a later version functioning with the PHP4 API in Sid, but not had much luck so far. I may end up going all the way back to the currently packaged version and rebuilding it against the latest API doing just what you've done, but I wanted to try later versions first.
