We decided that we would wait a bit to see if the last -rc became final, to avoid unneeded breakages/binNMUs, etc. in the case that they changed the ABI or even API again. This was also partially motivated because of the breakage in alioth which happened around that time. I don't know if Alberto knows the plans of upstream (maybe a Christmas present? :-) ), but I think that the last -rc was almost 2 months ago, the more that it goes on the most likely that they disrupt something. OTOH we cannot wait indefinetly from them. I will be on holidays next week, with more time for uploads and so on. Cheers. -- Manuel A.
