Could you please also restore the Provides?  Right now, I don't have
ttf-freefont installed but upgrading would force me to so.

AFAICS there is only one _versioned_ reverse dependency of ttf-freefont
(afterstep-data), once that is fixed you could drop the transitional
packages and only keep the Provides.
