Oh.  I tested on Linux and Hurd, and did not imagine that kFreeBSD was
that different from these two. :)

Can you test this construct instead of #!/lib/init/init-d-script:

  #!/bin/sh
  if [ true != "$INIT_D_SCRIPT_SOURCED" ] ; then
    set $0 $@; INIT_D_SCRIPT_SOURCED=true . /lib/init/init-d-script
  fi
