I cannot reproduce this error on AMD64, even in pbuilder.

than I see. Can you reproduce this? If so, can you create a chroot

The configure I have (appears to be the same as in the logs) shows:

So what is the output of ` puts [info tclversion]' | tclsh `
in the failing case? I get "8.6".
