Control: severity -1 wishlist

Hello!

Thanks for your bug report. There are multiple reasons why this is
not a serious bug though.....

First of all, upgrading from oldstable -> unstable (without going via
stable) is not a supported upgrade path. You can't skip releases.

When backporting packages it's the job of the backporter to actually
make the backporting job (ie. also backport {build-,}dependencies
to required versions or find workarounds to avoid needing this).

Different people handle things differently. Personally I tend to
drop the version of a versioned build-dependency once a new
enough version is in stable. I know many other people handle it
the same way.
This is thus an issue you will hit many times when doing backports
to oldstable.

There's no problem with bumping this for "correctness" here,
so I'm downgrading this to wishlist rather then closing the bug.

Regards,
Andreas Henriksson
