OK, I am not the one to decide and I accept Debian's got its rules, however, in my humble opinion anything called stable shouldn't ship software that does work at all and backports sources (as far as I remember) are not configured in apt by default. OK, I've got blueman from backports and I've got backports in my sources (actually I had it for quite some time but I set its priority low not to get updates from there automatically) *and* thaks to you I've learnt that I should always check backports (I am still somewhat reluctant to accepting backported versions automatically, am I wrong).
