I had to fix this manually... I would had been thankful if I never had
to dig into this bug.

Why is too late? add the breaks/replace... remove it in some
forthcoming upload in 6 months.

Me think you can even break an specific version... so you could help
those people with the broken package installed and no making it break
the current version that is not broken...

And that upload could be used to close this RC bug that is still open
for the current version and needs to be fixed before jessie
