Since nettle < 3.1 does not use versioned symbols this causes a segfault. nettle 3.1 provides versioned symbols but that does not help for the pending transition. A wget binary linked directly against libnettle4 (unversioned) and indirectly (via gnutls) against libnettle6 (versioned) still crashes. This needs changes on the nettle side of things, but I will keep the bug-report open here.
