Dear Shane, There is a new upstream release of cachefilesd:

It have no changelog but I hope that it might fix this problem.
New release is 4+ years newer than what we have in Debian.
Would you like me to upload NMU with new version?
Also I'd very much like to see package repository at collab-maint.
