Can you install the totem-dbgsym and related packages to get a more useful backtrace. Since we didn't have any recent updates of totem, I wonder if it's related to some other package upgrades, like gstreamer. Can you pin-point when totem started crashing for you? Which packages were updated? /var/log/apt(itude) and /var/log/dpkg should give you a log of your upgrades.
