As a quick fix "chgrp bacula /etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf" should help. To further understand your problem though, could you please also send us the output of: groups bacula cat /etc/defaults/bacula-dir.conf and if you use systemd, any local modifications of the startup procedure? Thanks, - Carsten
