xtrs 4.9c no longer works at all on modern Linux systems, so it should not be part of the next Debian stable release until this problem is fixed. Tim Mann's 4.9d release fixed this SIGIO issue and several other problems. (Having just built it, I see there are fresh compiler warnings that need to be quieted.) I wondered with some irritation what jackass had marked this bug as pending. Turns out it was me, back in 2009. :-| Ahem, well. I'm clearing the pending tag because I need to, ah, generate a fresh GPG key pair and get myself back in the ranks of active Debian developers. That may take time, and Stretch should not ship with this nonfunctional package. Regards, Branden
