Package: cpanel
Version: 0.3.1-2.2
Severity: critical

Hello,

on a machine of a friend, we installed cpanel to get a Chinese environment
on her system going.
I was completely flabbergasted when I found out some time later that cpanel had
simply overwritten THE WHOLE /etc/apt/sources.list with a cpanel specific file,
without even leaving A SINGLE BACKUP FILE!!!
I felt quite lucky that I didn't have a heavily customized sources.list
version. Instead, I still had the standard Knoppix version, so I could fix
that easily by pulling it from a Knoppix bootup again.
Otherwise I'd probably have killed most of the cpanel developers ;-)

I'm not sure whether cpanel asks for confirmation before overwriting the
file (I wasn't present when this happened), but if so, then it's still
a severe violation, since it doesn't leave a backup file either.

Needless to say, please fix this immediately (preferrably by simply
*adding* the specific cpanel lines to the existing file).

I just hope that the package version in my apt-cache is the one that I
observed this problem with.

Thanks for your work!

Have a nice day!
