Yes, it should have.
Statically it was, but unfortunately I forgot to check while running and libglade runtime-loaded several gnome libraries.
I've pushed etherape 0.9.17 loading gnomecanvas directly, without glade.

I am able to reproduce this issue, but installing libgnomeui-0
(which provides libgnome.so) fixes it for me. Like the upstream
report suggests, this looks like a missing dependency.
