Hi,
This is due to lam not supporting the updated semantics for the mpi
alternatives. The MPI alternatives in openmpi (default mpi) and mpich
now honour multiarch, and the existing mpi alternatives in LAM need to
be updated to do so.
Alternatively, Lam could be removed (officially dead upstream since 2015
