Are you using the BDB backend in /etc/ldap/slapd.conf, as suggested by the attached debconf values? What is the full modification you're trying to make? > Architecture: arm (armv5tel) > Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash > Kernel: Linux 2.6.16 > Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Well, it seems odd to me that anyone would run slapd on an arm system, but we still need to make sure any binaries we ship actually work. Is there any chance you could duplicate your environment on an x86 system, and confirm whether the problem is reproducible there? That would certainly help us know how to try to debug this without asking you to give us your complete slapd config and directory.
