Hi,
I can take care of the issue. There is a list of required LaTeX packages
in the INSTALL file in the root directory of the package. Still to do
that right and not mess anything up, its better if I do it during my
holidays in September. For now I propose to remove the dependency to
texlive-generic-recommended and add a dependency to texlive-full. The
causes overhead will be roughly 50% on needed disk space. If this is Ok
for you and Georges has time to do this, I herewith request to do so.

mediawiki2latex depends on texlive-generic-recommended which is no
longer built by texlive-base. texlive-generic-reccomended seems to be
a transitional package so presumablly you just need to update your
dependency.
