Can you still reproduce this by any chance?

If not, do you happen have any idea what version of guile-1.6-libs you
had installed at the time, or any idea if you also had slib installed?
I ask because I'd like to try to reproduce the problem on a machine
here (though it wouldn't be an ia64 machine).

The buildd's still failing in a similar way,
