hi debdelta can work with python2 or python3 : I rewrote the code long ago, to be compatible with both.
Currently the control file reads
Depends: python, bzip2, binutils, ${shlibs:Depends}
Recommends: python-apt, xdelta3, xdelta, lzma, xz-utils, xdelta, bsdiff,
gnupg2, gnupg-agent, python-debian
