Greetings, The failure does not appear with upstream default build options, but manifests when Wrapping is enabled, for the Python bindings.
After spending a bit of time investigating #957360, I found a few references to the issue upstream, with a fix which consisted to force usage of castxml 0.3.4 in CMake's build requirements specifications: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=957360 https://discourse.itk.org/t/weird-compile-errors-when-setting-dcmake-cxx-standard-17/3094 https://github.com/InsightSoftwareConsortium/ITK/pull/1876/files#diff-93909ee5c75b85d1412947c92cef96cc After some testing, I saw the use of castxml 0.3.4 indeed helped with the ftbfs. If I understood the situation properly, this means this issue will most likely be fixed by an update of castxml, which is still 0.3.3 in Sid for the moment. There may be other options, I'm trying -DCMAKE_CXX_STANDARD=11, but I'm not too fond of downgrading.
