OK, let's be reasonable about this. Not only do I not know how this got onto this system; I do not find it on any of my dozen other debian boxen. I am the one and only person to ever file a bug against this package; and I do not even want it. # dpkg -l gnotepad+-help Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold | Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed |/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad) ||/ Name Version Description +++-====================-====================-======================================================== rH gnotepad+-help 1.2.0-2 gnotepad+ User's Manual # dpkg -L gnotepad+-help Package `gnotepad+-help' does not contain any files (!) At this point, I will be perfectly satisfied when you simply tell me how to purge ALL files, and to get apt database to know NOTHING about this package. Yes, I am willing to do this manually.
