I looked through the users of the library and none of them currently
rely on the broken ABI and it doesn't look like upstream cares about
ABI stability much so I see 3 options here

  * migrate the current version to testing and consider it a non-bug
    and hope it never happens again

  * the above plus also updating the package so dependencies would
    always depend on >= upstream_version && < next_upstream_version

  * don't include the package in Debian because upstream doesn't care
    about ABI stability

That seems like something for the maintainer to figure out IMHO but
they didn't even respond to #971754 yet.

Doing so now, thanks.

There's going to be another GStreamer bugfix release beginning of next
week, which I'll be uploading after this has migrated to then.
