Package: libhealpix-cxx3 Version: 3.80.0-2 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from 'sid' to 'experimental'. It installed fine in 'sid', then the upgrade to 'experimental' fails because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a Breaks+Replaces relation. This error may also be triggered by having a predecessor package from 'sid 'installed while installing the package from 'experimental'. See policy 7.6 at https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#overwriting-files-and-replacing-packages-replaces >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): Preparing to unpack .../libhealpix-cxx3_3.80.0-2_amd64.deb ... Unpacking libhealpix-cxx3:amd64 (3.80.0-2) ... dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/libhealpix-cxx3_3.80.0-2_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libhealpix_cxx.so.3.0.2', which is also in package libhealpix-cxx2:amd64 3.80.0-1 dpkg-deb: error: paste subprocess was killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/libhealpix-cxx3_3.80.0-2_amd64.deb The unusal >= relation is intended in this case, since the package is co-installable with libhealpix-cxx2 in stable and testing, only the version in sid which shipped the wrong soname is to be broken. cheers, Andreas
