Thanks for reporting the problem. flam3-genome has a random element which probably explains the flakiness. However, I have run it thousands of times on my x64 desktop with no segfaults, and the issue does seem to be totally specific to ppc64el. Maybe it is a problem with the compiler or the kernel?
I'm attaching a script that runs flam3-genome continuously until it crashes. It would be very helpful if someone with easy access to ppc64el could install flam3, run the script, and report a seed number that triggers a segfault. The problem should then be easily reproducible. Cheers, Peter
