Looking at the source, I think the issue is that spamd is calling ip_or_name_to_ip_addresses() on the IP address, which in turn is passing AI_ADDRCONFIG to getaddrinfo(), which will fail on a system configured in such a way, as it does not consider loopback addresses. https://salsa.debian.org/perl-team/interpreter/perl/-/commit/425d71c741280e5c7d61b8895993e39b0c6c7ca4 is how a similar issue there was solved, if it's useful.
