This is a backtrace of the segfault:

#0  0xb7f0376a in IMG_isXCF () from /usr/lib/libSDL_image-1.2.so.0
#1  0x080b151c in Sear::GL::createWindow (this=0x0, width=640, height=480,
    fullscreen=false) at GL.cpp:261
#2  0x080a5f46 in Sear::RenderSystem::createWindow (this=0x8186f20, width=640,
    height=480, fullscreen=false) at RenderSystem.cpp:168
#3  0x0805d6a0 in Sear::System::init (this=0x830ba70, argc=1, argv=0xbfa41da4)
    at System.cpp:296
#4  0x080579b4 in main (argc=0, argv=0xb7f45cc0) at main.cpp:91

And, not surprisingly, downgrading libsdl-image1.2 to the version in Sarge
(1.2.4-1 instead of 1.2.5-1), makes sear run alright.

I'll dig a little bit more on this, but it definitely looks as a bug in
libsdl-image1.2 and not sear.
