I'm not really sure, but I believe the problem is the fact that e3 doesn't 
generate a really valid elf header. Anyway, there are at least two options to 
fix this without actually fixing the elf header. To add the 
option --force-execve to the upx command line (this may not work on kfreebsd 
or amd64, though), or to simply wipe out the upx call.

In this case upx just saves 3kb size, but it would add a number of 
requirements that to run e3, as it requires to have /proc working, and to 
uncompress the binary to /tmp,
