Package: netbase Version: 4.26 Severity: serious Justification: Policy 3.5 hi there,
I hope this "bug" justifies this severity-level. Well, the netbase package requires "openbsd-inetd", so I'm unable to delete it from my system, although I don't need it. I use xinetd, which replaces openbsd-inetd in every aspect as far as I can see. Maybe the update-inetd program is the reason for this dependency, it seems to work only with /etc/inetd.conf. But on the other-hand, it prevents people from deleting openbsd-inetd. I think a message by update-inetd like "please edit your xinetd-configuration by hand" would be enough. bye johannes -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16.14 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages netbase depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.1 Debian configuration management sy ii ifupdown 0.6.7 high level tools to configure netw ii iputils-ping [ping] 3:20020927-3 Tools to test the reachability of ii lsb-base 3.1-9 Linux Standard Base 3.1 init scrip ii openbsd-inetd 0.20050402-2 The OpenBSD Internet Superserver ii tcpd 7.6.dbs-9 Wietse Venema's TCP wrapper utilit netbase recommends no packages. -- debconf information: netbase/upgrade-note/etc-network-interfaces-pre-3.17-1: netbase/upgrade-note/init.d-split-pre-3.16-1: netbase/upgrade-note/radius-ports-pre-3.05: netbase/upgrade-note/portmap-restart-pre-3.11-2: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
