Package: Chromium

Version: 131.x

Severity: critical

Bug Description:

Hello,

I have a very serious problem today.

I am using Debian 12.8 + Cinnamon.

Gnome software offered me to perform updates this morning.

It installed Chromium-sanbox and uninstalled Chromium which is my default
internet browser.

Chromium was uninstalled and it is impossible to reinstall it !?!?

I no longer have access to my favorites, my saved passwords and remote access
(bank, etc.) which are essential to me, all this has become unusable since ;-(

If I completely reinstall Debian it is also impossible to install Chromium ?!?!

The maintainer of Chromium seems to have made a huge mistake and I am in real
trouble since.

Thank you to correct this as soon as possible.

The error message received is :

root@station:~# apt install chromium chromium-l10n

Dépend: libc++abi1-19 (>= 1:19.1.4) mais il n'est pas installable
Dépend: libunwind-19 (>= 1:19.1.4) mais il n'est pas installable

Would you be so kind as to correct this urgently please ?

1000 thanks and have a great weekend.

Best regards.

Philippe

Yes.

However, for the next security release (scheduled for later today; upstream just released for IOS, so I expect a Linux release any minute now) I'm going to temporarily switch back to gcc's libstdc++ so that users can upgrade without those conflicts.

New DSA with security update has been released. This should fix all issues related to libc++.
