I have got the source code from the debian package and generated the bin package using 'debuild'.
Here on amd64 I cannot replicate your FTBFS.
When compiling I get several warnings but not the error you mention.
Even the automated building tools @debian have not cought the error of this bug
report.
Can you please provide further info?
