The whole LXQt desktop are also independent of window manager, but Debian provides a default window manager for LXQt users who expected the desktop should works out of box after installed lxqt metapackage. For our point of view of packaging. We should provide out of box works experience for our users. So, at least one supported Wayland compositor should be installed in addition to lxqt-wayland-session for it to be used. Best regards, -- -Andrew
