I'm not convinced either:

 - With Evince 49 (currently in sid), AFAICT the only problems this
   bug causes are:

    - lots of noise in the Journal; I would say it's a minor regression

    - lack of security improvements brought by a gdk-pixbuf upload to
      sid a few weeks ago; it's sad, but it is not a regression, as
      Evince users in Debian have never had this available and working
      so far

 - This bug being RC and marked as affecting all current versions
   means apt-listbugs currently discourages some users from upgrading
   from a crashing version (48.1) to a working version (49).
   I can't see how this helps anyone.
