I fixed this issue with Arch linux files. https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/fetchmail I added fetchmail.service in /usr/lib/systemd/system/fetchmail.service and a fetchmail.tmpfiles (don't forget to replace nobody by nogroup in that file) You can also consider to add [email protected] and the fetchmail.sysusers configuration.
