I picked spellcast as a bug of the day target. Seems after 10 years it needed some refreshment. For better transparency what was changed I've pushed it to the Debian Games team on Salsa at https://salsa.debian.org/games-team/spellcast/ I have no idea whether you might like to maintain it there - feel free to move the repository around (I can grant you the permissions to remove it there again, hopefully). Using source format 3.0 as requested in bug #1007581 uncovered that quite some patching was done. I kept it in a single patch with the only exception of the autoconf files which needed changes to fix bug #1077895 (FTBFS). It seems I created some regression since /usr/share/locale/es/LC_MESSAGES/spellcast.mo I need to check tomorrow. Please let me know what you think whether the package should be maintained in Debian Games team or not. What prevents me from any upload currently is that there is no copyright statement for the debian/ packaging. Would you mind proposing a license for the packaging work? BTW, there is also the package spellcast.doc which seems to be basically a wget result of some online documentation. While I agree that this was probably helpful when the first packaging was done I don't think its helpful these days. Popcon agrees with me (zero usage) so I wonder whether you might like to ask for removal of this package if you agree with this.
