Unfortunately, the programs involved in the build do not result in a reproducible font. We usually ship the font files published by upstream (in this case at GitHub releases).
You can add the GitHub release file via a MUT (see debian-watch) to the source tarball. Please keep building the font even when the installed font is the upstream one. This is the usual and convenient solution. Other solutions are asking upstream if they are content with the build path and we can ship this way or renaming the font (which we usually do not do). The best solution would be producing a font with exactly the same properties as upstream's build. You can use sfddiff to check the font differences.
