my plan is to package asunder-gtk3 and make asunder a transitional package to

asunder-gtk3 is slightly better supported upstream, and IMHO a better conversion
(column sizing works better) than grimripper.

I'm checking in on how this is going.

Short answer; Nowhere!
My comment about asunder-gtk3 being a better option turned out to be false.
The issues with grimripper column sizing have disappeared, so I assume they
were caused by bug in gtk3.
Neither grimripper nor asunder-gtk3 have updated the copyright or upstream info,
and asunder-gtk3 is slightly worse, as its "About" page still points to the
original Asunder page, not to its own.
Neither grimripper nor asunder-gtk3 have any recent upstream activity,
asunder (gtk2) is actually better supported.
Asunder was updated this year (improved translations),
no recent updates for asunder-gtk3 or grimripper.
