Package: multipath-tools Version: 0.4.7-1.1 Followup-For: Bug #390023 The upgrade path fails. Installing version 0.4.7-1.1 (no upgrade) is successful. When upgrading, stopping the process before configuring it (dpkg --configure multipath-tools) solves the problem.
It seems that when prerm script is run during upgrade, 0.4.7-1 init script isn't able to stop the daemon, since its pidfile is wrong. That's what causes the issue. Since this version solves a 0.4.7-1 bug, an upgrade path should be offered, because, definitively, 0.4.7-1.1 is a better candidate to stable etch. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-1-vserver-amd64-k8 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages multipath-tools depends on: ii dmsetup 2:1.02.08-1 The Linux Kernel Device Mapper use ii initscripts 2.86.ds1-34 Scripts for initializing and shutt ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdevmapper1.02 2:1.02.08-1 The Linux Kernel Device Mapper use ii libncurses5 5.5-5 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libreadline5 5.2-1 GNU readline and history libraries ii libsysfs2 2.1.0-1 interface library to sysfs ii udev 0.100-2.2 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo multipath-tools recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
